What we install and why
"Epoxy" has become a catch-all — here's what you actually want
Most people searching for an "epoxy garage floor" aren't locked into a specific chemistry — they want a coating that looks good, holds up to vehicles and salt, and lasts. True epoxy can do the job, but it has real limitations in a KC garage: it yellows under UV, cures slowly, and doesn't handle freeze-thaw movement well over time. We can install epoxy when it's the right fit. Most of the time, we recommend something better.
Why we lead with polyurea/polyaspartic
UV-stable. Won't yellow or fade, even with direct sun through the garage door.
Same-day cure. You drive on it the day we finish. Traditional epoxy keeps your garage out of commission for 24-72 hours.
Flexible. Moves with the concrete through freeze-thaw cycles. Reduces the cracking and delamination that eventually takes out rigid coatings in KC climate.
Broader installation window. Works across a wider temperature range, which means we can schedule year-round.
Harder and more chemical-resistant. Handles oil, antifreeze, road salt, floor jacks, and dropped tools without complaint.
We back the polyurea/polyaspartic system with a lifetime warranty. We only warranty true epoxy installations for 5 years — that's the honest difference in durability.
Flake colors and finish sheens
Dozens of flake blends — neutrals, bold colors, multi-tone combinations that hide dirt and wear naturally. Finish sheens from matte to high gloss. We bring samples to your garage so you see how the colors read in your actual lighting before you commit.
Why KC weather matters
Freeze-thaw cycles expand and contract concrete repeatedly through winter. Road salt and ice melt accelerate unprotected concrete deterioration. Summer humidity drives moisture vapor through slabs. Polyurea/polyaspartic handles all three — epoxy doesn't.
Our 6-step coating process
-
We mechanically open the concrete surface using professional diamond grinders. Not acid etching — diamond grinding is the industry standard for durable adhesion. Every floor. No exceptions.
-
We test moisture vapor emission before applying anything. Elevated readings get a moisture-mitigation primer — unaddressed moisture is the #1 cause of coating failure.
-
We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear communication and reliable results. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it that sets us apart.
-
Polyurea base applied at the correct film thickness, allowed to reach the proper stage.
-
Decorative flake broadcast into the wet base coat at your chosen density.
-
UV-stable clear topcoat seals everything — your chosen sheen, scratch-resistant, chemical-resistant.
How we price garage floor coatings
We don't list a per-square-foot rate because the right number depends on the concrete you have, the space you want coated, and the system you choose. We walk the garage with you and write a quote based on what we find.
Every quote is itemized: surface prep, repair work, base coat, flake broadcast, topcoat, and warranty all listed as line items.
Factors that move the number:
Garage size (larger spaces scale more efficiently per foot)
Concrete condition — significant cracking, spalling, or a previous failed coating requires more prep
Coating system chosen (polyurea/polyaspartic vs. traditional epoxy)
Flake density — light scatter vs. full broadcast
Number of topcoats and finish sheen
Moisture-mitigation primer if elevated vapor is detected
What you get with the quote:
Free walkthrough, owner-led
Moisture testing included at no charge during the estimate
Written line-item estimate
Lifetime warranty on polyurea/polyaspartic systems; 5-year warranty on true epoxy if you choose that route
