Will recoating remove scratches?
Light scratches in the finish may become less noticeable. A maintenance coat does not remove deep scratches, pet stains or damage within the wood.
Is recoating less expensive than refinishing?
It generally involves less work than sanding to bare wood. Your estimate depends on the area, preparation, layout and finish. A lower-cost scope is only useful if the existing floor is suitable for it.
How long will the rooms be out of use?
Confirm the work schedule and product-specific return times before booking. Walking, replacing furniture, laying rugs and full cure are different milestones. Discuss furniture moving and access through connected rooms at the estimate.

Keep the renewed finish in good condition
A maintenance coat adds protection, but everyday care still matters. Follow the return-to-use and cleaning instructions for the finish applied to your floor.
- Remove loose grit with a dry mop or a vacuum set for hard floors.
- Wipe up spills promptly and use a cleaner approved for your finish.
- Avoid steam mops, soaking the floor and unapproved waxes or shine-restoring products.
- Keep furniture pads clean and lift furniture when moving it.
When should you consider another recoat?
Watch the finish in entrances, hallways and other busy areas. Have dullness or wear assessed before bare wood appears. The right interval depends on traffic, cleaning habits and the condition of the finish.
