From the first assessment to the finished floor, here’s what we discuss, how the work is planned, and what you need to know before using the space again.
How your flooring project moves forward
Hardwood, LVP and concrete coatings involve different work. Each project starts with understanding the existing surface, the result you want and what the household needs while the work is underway.

Assess the floor and your goals
We inspect the existing surface, measure the areas involved and discuss your options. Tell us about damage, previous repairs and deadlines tied to a move or remodel.
- Identify the rooms, closets, stairs or concrete areas involved.
- Discuss repair, restoration or replacement where appropriate.
- Separate visible conditions from issues that may remain hidden until removal.

Define the scope and schedule
Review what the estimate includes before approving the work. Removal, repairs, preparation, trim and finishing details should be clear alongside the main flooring scope.
- Confirm the material or finish and where the work begins and ends.
- Assign furniture moving, appliance handling and other preparation responsibilities.
- Discuss access, other trades, scheduling and approval of additional work.
- Confirm whom to contact with questions during the project.

Prepare the space and perform the work
Our crews complete the preparation and flooring work included in the approved scope. The surface underneath, surrounding areas and selected products guide the process.
- Confirm protection for nearby surfaces and access through the home.
- Complete agreed removal, surface preparation and repairs.
- Review unexpected conditions before expanding the approved work.

Review the result and return to use
We review the completed work and explain care instructions for the installed flooring or finish. Completion, permission for limited use and full cure can be different milestones.
- Confirm when walking and furniture can return.
- Ask separately about pets, rugs, cleaning and vehicles where applicable.
- Review remaining questions and the warranty terms that apply to your project.
What changes by service
Hardwood refinishing
Our dustless sanding systems collect dust at the source. Surface protection, stain samples, finish selection and drying intervals are planned around the rooms being refinished.
New flooring
Subfloor condition, moisture, product requirements and transitions affect installation. Removing existing flooring may reveal preparation needs that were not visible during the estimate.
Concrete coatings
Slab condition, repairs, moisture and the selected coating system determine preparation and application. Walking, returning stored items and parking vehicles may require different waiting periods.
Plan around the rest of your home
Tell us if the project affects your only staircase, kitchen, bathroom or usual entrance. Identify heavy furniture, connected appliances and other items that require arrangements before work starts.
For a larger remodel, share the schedule for cabinets, painting and other trades so the flooring sequence can be coordinated.
